Bristol Shoot Next Weekend

Just talked with the new President of the CCKC club, and he asked me to pass this along.<br />
<br />
Cowboy shooting is indeed alive and well at Bristol, and will remain so for years to come.<br />
<br />
IN fact, next weeks shoot, will happen rain or shine, so don't let anyone tell ya different. Also, for those who are headed for the Ruckus, this and the Good guy shoot the following week are likely to be your last chances to tune up for the State match.<br />

I'm sure some of you might have heard that CAS is not going to continue at Bristol, well don't you believe it. I've seen next years Bristol schedual, and every 2nd weekend of the month--may through November--there is a Cowboy shoot on it. Cowboy is alive and well, and it's going to stay that way.<br />

That is real good to hear. I did hear some rumors but Gordon and Stan both assured me that Cowboy Shooting was alive and well at Bristol.<br />
I also heard that Bristol was getting a new MD ??? If this is true , he can count on myself and a bunch of others helping him . <br />
I know me,Huck , CW , George and the Usual Suspects <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':crazy:' /> will be there shooting Sunday even in the rain !!!!!!! As far as BP ??? I'm too "clean cut" of a Cowboy to be shooting that stinky stuff :P <br />

I was hoping to make the shoot at Bristol this month but I'm going to up in the northwoods of Wisconsin for a week starting tomorrow.

I believe that registration starts at eight and the safety meeting at eight forty five, shoot starts at nine. But then I ain't been there for a couple of years.<br />

You can also click any date on our calendar and it will tell you what and when, etc.<br />

Or go to "OTHER CLUBS" and click on the Bristol web site. Just ignore all of Steeley's and Cary Kid's lies as they are now claiming that they are walking away from administrating anything Bristol, "PERIOD."<br />

I believe that until they get the web site cleaned up and updated you will find information that is not connected to politicking and causing other trouble to be correct. <br />

As far as "new shooters" I can't speak for Bristol, but would strongly recommend Sat. for both there and at GGP. If they are completely new, we do not allow the shooting unless they have been checked out and "snapped in" on a Sat. in order to shoot on Sun. and there after. Completely new shooters are expected to watch on Saturday and then allowed to shoot a couple of stages after the match. Depending on experience (not completely new to shooting) we can get them "snapped in" on Sat. and allow them to participate in the entire shoot if they are capable of safely doing so. Handled on a case by case basis by our safety officers.

Normally, the Saturday shooting starts after set up is complete. Set up takes at least a couple of hours, though the more folks who show up for it, the faster it goes--HINT_HINT_HINT!<br />

Even though it's a later start, it's still a fun time.

I didn't see a mention of Sat shooting in Tex's letter, but it used to happen after the set-up. Maybe we'll see some more news in the near future. <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
