How, you ask? It is simple, just be the first one to post a photo of your new Ill CCW license. Blank out the private parts, of course. No personal identification, just leave enough so we know it is legit and yours. No instructors, no photoshop nonsense. OK?<br />

What will you win? Hell, I don't know but I'll bet someone here will make a suggestion or two.<br />
<br />
PS - If you want, post here with the date and time your application was completed so we can keep a running tally of times between application and license receipt.<br />

    [font=times new roman,times,serif]Completed for Lizzie and I between four and five PM 01/02/14. We'll see how long it takes when they start to process them. Mine was time stamped at 4:24 and Lizzie's 4:54 for the payment.[/font]

    I tried to check my status today also, and achieved the same result as you, Jim. Since I did not bow to the requirement of electronic fingerprints, I figure all those that applied will receive their permits long before me.

    Yesterday, some of the instructors who applied on Dec 18th, started showing "Approved" instead of "Under Review" on their applications. More today and it continues to grow. No wonder the website is slow with everyone checking to see if their status has changed! Shouldn't be long now, folks.

    Might be a few days for you yet, JJ. They are still working their way through the instructors (about 2000 of them) and they haven't gotten to me yet. They have a press conference tomorrow at around 10 AM and they will be saying they have mailed some out. But I doubt it will be many.<br />

    This contest is fixed! I'd have to move to Hawaii or Illinois to win. I can't afford Hawaii and Illinois is full of gun nuts running around in cowboy hats. I'd file a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's office or the Illinois State Commerce Bureau, but I can't afford the bribes required to get them to take any action. <br />

Checked their site and found that we are both approved. Don't know when they'll be mailing the license, but maybe by the next time I make the run to the refiners with the gold I can be "legal."     Ha! Thought you might be. But they still haven't gotten around to me. I'm still "Under Review". There seems to be no logical order to the change in status. My students are being approved before I am!! Oh well, it will come when it comes.<br />

    People with NO fingerprints are being approved right along with those that have them - just as I suspected would happen and why I advised our students to save their money on prints.

    Well, I'm hoping today is the day for both of us. Mine still shows "Under Review" but there seems to be a lot of people receiving their licenses while still under review. Seems the ISP has stopped updating the info we can access and put the people to work printing and mailing licenses.

    You already got your prize -- a hassle free CCW! Most of us in Illinois will croak before we have it and I had to sell 2 grandchildren to pay for it.

    Well, after 106 days, I checked the website today and lo and behold my status was "Active" with a CCL # 142468016x. So, I guess it must be in the mail. Just short of the 120 days allotted for applicants that applied without fingerprints. <br />

    Congrats, Wrangler Rich, on the status change. The "ill" legislature doesn't reconvene until the 29th, and hopefully one of the various bills which might enable Cheeseheads to carry concealed in Illinois will get passed this year.<br />

    When did you complete your application? Some folks are getting theirs in as little as 34 days while others are taking close to the full allowed time.

    The Illinois State Police turned up some "disreputable associates" in their background check for King. They are also investigating rumors about him known to be holding a stick of dynamite in public and scavenging brass. I think there may also be a warrant out on him for operating an unlicensed push cart.<br />
