Regarding the drawing and firing I think we understand that one having watching what has sometimes taken place at the cowboy shoots. Liability for when somebody draws, sweeps and/or shoots with someone not being clear of this action.

Believe that the release that you sign and other "rules" cover their behinds regarding liability if it is a weapon that is not drawn in and around the range.

They're just trying to cover their collective behinds and frankly on this one I can't blame them. How many times have you packed your gear and left when confronted with unsafe gun handling? I know I have. (Not at Bristol)
Bottom line.

No drawing and firng - Okay

No concealed carry on the range - Don't agree (but guess I can disarm and rearm when leaving)[/font]
Then too, a lot of conservation club members may be avid long gun or bow hunters, but have no interest in or liking of handguns. The clubs have to balance the interests of all members, not just those who are more pro-handgun.

A more reasonable policy would be to allow concealed carry on the range, but not allow firing of the concealed weapon except under conditions as permitted by the concealed carry law. Most of readers here probably have more trouble deciding which gun to carry rather than deciding whether to carry their only gun concealed or put it in a case and take it to the range to shoot. But a common sense rule like that would probably anger a lot one gun licensees and make them feel discriminated against (and inadequate).

Anyone care to report on the concealed carry rules of any Illinois shooting clubs or ranges?
I am proud to report that the esteemed Board of Directors of the Good Guys Posse and the landowner of our range discussed this issue over a year ago and concluded that "concealed means concealed".

I don't know about any other places, but the On Target range in Crystal Lake is posted with the GREEN sign, welcoming CCW, only asking that it says concealed unless need arises. They do offer certain times for drawing and shooting, provided the person has qualified at one of their classes. But any licensed CCW can carry.

SK
a loaded weapon?? Oh and he decides to show it off to his buddy while people are down range!!
Just because they have a CCW that doesn't make them Bright.
Leave your Weapon in your car you can still wear your Holster.
Is that so hard to figure out?
