That's a wrap! Thanks for a great season. See you all next year!

We should be shooting 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday again next year.

Final schedule to be finalized in February.

PPC Match

So we have scheduled a PPC style match for Friday May 21from 2pm til 6pm.  This match is not shot in a posse format so you show up shoot your match and you are done.  If you just shoot the course of fire once I would expect you will be done in as little as a half hour.  But you can shoot it several times if you like.
So what is PPC,  It is and older combat style pistol match.  Similar to a Police Department qualification course.  It is a 48 rounds course of fire that requires you shoot targets from 3 to 25 yards in distance under time constraints.  Also requires you draw from holster and make reloads on the clock.
Equipment required, one handgun (any Caliber)( I am not going to stop you from using a cowboy gun but reloads on the clock will be tough), 48 rounds (Since this match is shot on paper targets, you can use jacketed bullets), A strong side holster (So leave your shoulder rigs and ankle holsters at home), and either two speed loaders or three magazines ( this is a revolver friendly course so it is shot in 6 shot strings)
Cost?  we will be charging $10 for your first run and $5 for each reshoot,  your highest score will be used on match results.  (Yes we will be scoring the targets)
So if you want some practice time with your CCW gun, or you have Pappy's old revolver in the safe, come on out and give this a try.
   Hope to see you there

Is there a PPC format for 5 shot revolvers, like the S&W Chief's Specials?

  • Not really Snidely, but you could certainly shoot your J frame and just take the misses, or be really fast with your reloads.  On second thought, We can just do a five shooter group and you will only shoot a 40 round match. So yes you can.
