That's a wrap! Thanks for a great season. See you all next year!

We should be shooting 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday again next year.

Final schedule to be finalized in February.

GAF scores and placement

Fellow GAF shooters, in this thread I will post the scores for yesterday's shoot.
The categories breakdown as follows with the top three finishers.

Mil Spec repeater rifle smokeless:
1. John Clint 218.76 03A3 bolt action .30 cal
2. Don Long 269.19 Krag rifle bolt action 30/40 cal
3. Duckie      304.85 Krag carbine bolt action 30/40 cal

Mil Spec Single Shot Black powder (Trapdoor Carbine 45/70 cal.)
1. Mike Maurooney  (He was the only shooter in this class!)

Civilian Short Action rifle (this used to be the Scout class)
1. Rob Arntzen 143.65
2. Kevin Goebel 160.24
3. Mike Krause    156.77 (Although Mike's score is lower than Kevin's, Mike encountered rifle problems and finished the                                                      last 2 stages with his pistol).

Pistol stage 12 targets (Check out these scores!!)
1. Mike Maurooney, 37.22 with a Webley revolver.
2. John Clint, 38.09 with the M1911A1.
3. Rob Arntzen, 38.33 with Webley revolver.

The 2x4, well every shooter got a score of 33.09!  Which ended in an 8-way tie.

Mad Minute Rifle
1. Kevin Goebel 17 hits, lever action rifle.
2. Rob Arntzen  16 hits, lever action rifle.
3. John Clint      13 hits, 03A3 bolt action .30 caliber.

The match theme was The M1911A1 and we had a sprinkling of all kinds of old guns.  2 1911s, 2 Webleys, 2 cowboy 6 guns, 1 Colt 38 cal, and 1 S&W 38 cal. Rifles were 2 Krags, 1 03A3, 4 lever rifles, and 1 US Springfield Trapdoor.

I want to make it known that 1911s are always welcome at a GAF match unless the coordinator says different.

Here I want to give credit to Rob Arntzen who is the Division of Illinois Champ.  To win this, one must place in the top 3 in each category.  They were the rifle stages, pistol stage and Mad Minute rifle.  I am giving Honorable mention to Mike Krause who finished the match with his pistol.  He completed the last rifle stage with a score of 84.54. That is 13 targets which involved a miss and 2 reloads.  He completed the Mad Minute Rifle at a reduced distance with 15 hits. Battlefield thinking, folks!!

This ends my novel, but GAF is just a tad different from regular CAS shoots!!?  Oh, and Kevin I am sure that I misspelled your last name.? Crawling outta bed at 0330 sucks!!
