GAF shoot 29 April
Hey folks!!
Just wanted to post that 4 of us went to Dry Gulch and shot the GAF muster. We did not score and we did not use a timer. Just pounded some steel and blew up a 2x4!! What was interesting were the weapons which were used. I will list them and their owner/shooter.
Johnny Popper: 03A3 cal 3006 and a 1911 pistol.
Mike Morouney: Remington/Lee, bolt action 4570 cal and a 1909 Colt DA in 45 Colt. Mike's rifle is close to 140 years old!!
Duckie: 1896 Krag carbine 3040 cal and a 1911 pistol.
Msgt Long: 1898 Krag rifle 3040 cal and a 1905 Smith and Wesson DA in 38 spec.
After the match proper we did a "Shoot my rifle and pistol" which was probably the icing on the cake. SMILES and compliments were shared by all!! Yes the weather sucked, but what a time!!! Bottom line, check your safes as there might be an old soldier or an arm from the 19th century that would love to participate...
We have a special guest that is attending the 29 July Muster...
