Dastardly Dan in hospital

Dan took a nose dive off his deck a few days ago and he is now in NIMC in McHenry awaiting surgery tomorrow to pin his femor. As soon as he can he'll let us know and maybe we can get a posse up there to harass him.

Got off the phone with Dan a few minutes ago. He's doing well and sounds great. Says they let a robot put the pin in his leg and although he hasn't seen the incision, he thinks it's a small one. No big scar to show off, but at least he's got some more steel in him. As near as he can figure they'll probably send him home on Tuesday. Good thing that the titanium ain't magnetic or a number of us would be in trouble. <br />

Wouldn't surprise me to see him shoot the June match.

I just talked to Dan also, and he sounds good but says he feels a little groggy. They said they will pull all the tubes tomorrow and maybe they may let him go home. I told him if he feels up to it to push them and they may give the OK. JJ should be there and they would have sent him home when he came out of la la land.

Talked with Dan briefly today and he should be coming home later this afternoon. Told him that we will expect him to shoot the June match.

I just talked to Dan's wife and they did not release him today as planned. It looks like he has an infection and they want to keep him there. I'll be talking to him in the morning and see what's up.

I'm home and doing pretty well. Will be slowed down for a while. Whew, good thing the tables are done!! I actually had a few cute nurses, unfortunately no "night nurses from jersy" I'll have a better guess at how long It'll be before I'm out shooting a match in a week or so. Saw the Doc this morning. He says 5 more weeks healing. I'm sure I'll get strength back before that. HUH is a bit iffy, but I'm really going to make an effort. :P
