3. Should we adopt the following Stage Conventions and document them in the SASS Match Directors Guide.<br />
( It is time we addressed a standard in "Understood Stage Behavior". A set Stage Conventions are a list of standards every shooter is expected to know and follow on every stage. These conventions are not "rules" since they can be over-ridden by stage design. They are the standard defaults when nothing is specified. they are as follows:<br />

STAGE CONVENTIONS<br />
Unless stated otherwise in stage descriptions, all of the following applies in SASS<br />
<br />
1. All knock down shotgun targets may be reengaged until down<br />
2.All knock down targets (shotgun, rifle, or revolver) must go down to count.<br />
3 All staged guns shall have their barrels pointed safely down range and, where possible, all long guns staged horizontally shall be staged where no part of the firearm hangs over the edge.<br />
4. Staged shotguns shall be open and empty.<br />
5. Shooters may not start a stage with ammunition in hand.<br />
6. Long guns shall be discarded open and empty with barrels pointed safely down range.<br />
7. Revolvers shall be returned to leather after the shooting string.<br />
8. Revolvers shall be drawn and used in accordence with the shooters catrigory<br />
9. Safe gun handling is the shooters responcibility. The 170-degree rule is in effect. The Basketball travelling rule is in effect when there is a live round under the hammer.<br />
10. If no starting position is given, the shooter shall stand fully erect with revolvers holstered, hands at his/her side, not touching any firearms.<br />
11. Cowboy port arms is defined as the butt of the long gun at or below the waist of the shooter, the muzzle at or above the shoulder, and the long gun held in both hands.<br />
12. Interpersonal Conflicts WILL NOT be tolerated at this event.<br />
