Beloit Shoot Cancelled!

Stoney Mike, a member of the Good Guys Posse and Territorial Governor of the Rock River Regulators, has passed along the sad news that, due to zoning problems, the Beloit shoot is cancelled until further notice.<br />
<br />
Stoney Mike and his dad, Rock River Ted, have worked very hard to make the Beloit shoot one of the outstanding and more enjoyable matches in the area. I know we are all saddened by this loss and offer our heartfelt thanks to Mike and Ted for all they have done.<br />
<br />
The Rock River Regulators have a clean shoot prize to give away and will hold the drawing at the Oct. 15th Good Guys Posse match. We are pleased to have them join us and have the drawing at our match.<br />

Again, to all the Rock River Regulators, thanks for all you folks have done for the area cowboys and we all hope and pray you are back shooting again soon!

I'm sad to say that due to pressure from the Beloit township zoning <br />
board, the shoot at Beloit on Oct 7th has been cancelled. Kocheese was there <br />
and saw that we did the best we could to change some minds, but it seemed a <br />
forgone conclusion that we can't shoot until the zoning issue has been <br />
resolved. Until further notice all shooting on the new 40 acres hs been prohibited.<br />
I feel as though I've been kicked in the head. I feel just awfull.<br />
I'm sorry it had to happen this way. If you all could help me get the word out I <br />
would be eternally gratefull.<br />

Mike, I'm extremely disapointed but not surprised by the board's vote. We'll all keep our fingers crossed it only affects this weekend shoot and things are resolved by spring. Anything I (we) can do to help let us know. Thanks for the time youv'e put in on all of us shooters behalf. Big Grit

Filthy Harry

Been called out a couple times by the Beloit Township board before over zoning issues. They're a small town board trying to act like a big city. I'm hoping lawyers and money can get Beloit shooting again. Stoney Mike and Ted and others have done a lot to make this a "must go to" for many area shooters. I worked with the Board President until he retired, so I'll give him a call and see what the feeling of the board is on our chances.

Extremely disappointed, but not surprised. As others have said, I hope that the situation will be resolved by spring. Stoney Mike and Rock River Ted and many others have put a lot of time and work in to bring it to the point that they now have one of the better shoots in the area. Whenever my schedule permitted I would always attend that shoot and everyone could always count on a well run and enjoyable shoot. Once again my signature phrase comes into play.

Truly a sad day Mike but you and your dad keep your heads and spirit up. You have nothing to feel awful about and everything to be proud of. You have done an excellent job and held terrific shoots. No one can guess what the stupidity of politics these days has in store for any of the clubs. We all know how difficult it is, everyday the battle goes on regarding our shooting sports.
