When all this started a few years back, None of us imagined that the Good Guys Posse website and it's forum, the Hitching Post, would become so popular and grow so large. The Hitching Post has now far overshadowed the traffic on the main website - few go there any more except to link to the Hitching Post, get scores and schedules or look at some of the pictures. The layout of the forum and website has grown complicated and less easy to navigate as I've patch/linked the two together like a patchwork quilt.<br />

Nearly all of the functions now handled by the main website can be handled easier on the Hitching Post. Not to mention that there are many duplications. So, now that the shooting season is over and I have some extra time on my hands, I'll be restructuring the website and forum. Fear not, all your favorite things will still be there but possibly in a different place and, hopefully, easier to find for those new to our club. In fact. I'll be doing a lot of the same type of things that SASS has done with their site.<br />

All entry to the site will be through the "Portal" page, which will be the primary location for the important stuff. Links from the Portal will then take you to where ever you wish to go. From your end, things should be easier and more practical. As an example, SK now e-mails me the scores which, when I finally discover they have come in, I post on the website. To do that, I have to load up the web program, then load up the site, convert the pdf's SK sends into a tiff file, integrate them into the scores page and then up load it to the server. Under the new system, SK can easily post the scores directly on the Hitching Post in pdf format ready for downloading, viewing and printing. This will take SK about the same time it now takes him to e-mail them to me. You get the scores sooner, you can download ALL pages and print them out. Sounds like "win-win" to me.<br />

A large number of the changes I'll be making will not be visible to the users but when I do change something, I'll be putting a note on the Hitching Post. I'll also be adding some new forums to handle the moved information and I'll be alerting you to that also. <br />

And, PLEASE ask questions and give me feedback as things progress - what seems logical to me isn't always logical - I can easily fool myself! So, speak up as we all want to make this the finest cowboy website ever!<br />

Remember, wherever you are on the site the "Good Guys Posse Portal" link under the picture in the upper left corner of any page will take you back to the Portal.<br />
