That's a wrap! Thanks for a great season. See you all next year!
We should be shooting 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday again next year.
Final schedule to be finalized in February.
SASS Territorial Governor vote
<div class="IPBDescription">Make your choice known!</div>As the Territorial Governor of the Good Guys Posse, SASS sometimes calls upon me to vote on an issue that was not settled at the Governor's Conference. This is one of those times and I would like to poll the membership of the GGP to decide how I will vote. I must mail my ballot by the end of the week, so please don't wait to express your opinion. The Question is:<br />
<br />
Should we allow competitors in the Frontier Cartridge Category, which is a Traditional style shooting category, the option to choose to shoot Gunfighter style? (Not the Frontier Cartridge Duelist Category.)
<br />
<br />
Please indicate "Yes" or "No" in the poll and I will vote accordingly.<br />
<br />
Thanks!

I'm not a GGP member, but I do shoot "Gunfighter", I think those that want to shoot the 2 hands 2 guns style, should be allowed to. All Safety Practices followed of course.<br />

As I said, "...SASS sometimes calls upon me to vote on an issue that was not settled at the Governor's Conference."<br />
<br /> <br />
<br />
As the question said, "...which is a Traditional style shooting category" (traditional style does NOT include gunfighter style).
<br />
The reason is because of SASS rules. Item's up before the TG's can be voted down by a simple majority (51% or larger.) Item's that would change the current rules must be approved by a majority of 2/3's. This issue was re-worded at the convention, so proxy votes had to be re-counted to see if the measure passes by the required majority.<br />
<br />
Funny thing is, this was the issue that most folks wanted past, but in the frontier duelest catagory. The TG's decided to make it in the Frontier Cartage Catagory instead. Now many of the two handed shooters are against it. Guess they fear us Gunfighters! <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':w00t:' /> <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> (Most likely since the gunfighter are always winning top gun at EOT <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' /> )
<br />
Not exactly. (the get it right part)<br />
<br />
The origional draft that the TG's asked their clubs about before the convention was to let Gunfighters shoot in the Frontier Duelest Catigory.(That is a one handed-black powder catigory) <br />
<br />
The change made at the convention is for Gunfighters to be added, if they so chose, to the Frontier Cartridge<br />
Catigory (That is the two handed Black powder catigory instead.==with The two handed shooters being WAY faster) AS this was a major change, none of the proxy votes counted, so it goes out for ratifacation.<br />
<br />
Which, by the by==all votes MUST be in by Jan. 5th to even count--and last I heard, over half of the TG's have not even recieved ballots for it yet. Can't say for certain, but looks like some underhanded things might just be involved here as well!
<br />
Keep in mind that while there is a lot of speculation on the TG and ROII Instructor's wires regarding this and other issues, even from those "in the know", nothing is firm unless and until SASS publishes the new rules. Often the resulting rules as published are quite different in meaning and wording than what everyone expects. I won't speculate on what the exact wording will be and I encourage others not to do so also since if the published rules are different as they have been in the past, this only serves to confuse the shooters. When something is firm, you'll probably see it here first!

Thanks Denny; its nice to have a TG that keeps us informed and keeps up on what is going on in SASS.
