As most of my pards are aware I am an Assistant Scout Master of Troop 392 in Schaumberg Il. and my son (Kid Mike) Is a Second class Scout, Patrol Leader, and Troop Buglar. While eatting out one eavening last week , Jumpping JoMama was with us, an elderly man slumped forward while eatting his meal. His wife stood by him asking if he was ok. I observed the situation get worse and went over to assist. I asked the man 3 questions. 1-can you smile. 2-can you rais your hands up ove your head. 3- What is your name? He could not ansser any of the questions. He was having a strok!! I, and Michael started to administer First Aid, and called 911 for an ambulance. We saved this mans life! We are now being investagated to recive the 2nd higest award in Boy Scoutting. I will keep you posted as to if we recive it and where the presintation and banquet will be held. This is very special the higest award is given if you place your life in danger while atemptting to save someone.<br />

Way to go COS & KM. In this day and age, most would consider the possible consequences of acting rather than jumping in and doing. Hopefully in these types of circumstances people like yourselves will be present when others are in need. I think that most of the posse would act rather than think about it first. Good to be associated with people who are capable and caring enough to do the right thing.
