That's a wrap! Thanks for a great season. See you all next year!

We should be shooting 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday again next year.

Final schedule to be finalized in February.

Long Range black powder rifle

Did you tell me the other day that you shot long range BP before, where is there a range in Wisconsin, I bought a Pedrocelli Gibbs 451 and eventually would like to shoot it long range. I know that there is a 300 yd range at McMiller but that about the longest that I know of. <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cowboy1.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cowboy1:' /> <br />

ISRA has a range in Kankakee that has a 300 yard segment. Racine I believe has a 600 yard range but you have to be a member. However, the Black Buffalo meets shoot at those kinds of distances at various places around here I believe - it's where DD used to shoot long range BP. Look at those on the schedule on the website ?Want to pretend to be artillery, huh. <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pokey.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pokey:' />

In addition to the above, Oconomowoc has a 300 yard range and Big Grit has regular side matches there after every cowboy shoot. I started the Black Buffalo a few years back at Racine although John Newgent now runs it. They shoot about 3 times per year at either 500 or 600 yards. Lodi has a 1200 yard range and Ernie Stallman of Badger Barrels runs a 800, 900, 1000 yard black powder match there twice a year - Mother's Day weekend and September.<br />

One of the fun things at Oconomowoc is a weekly 300 yard .22 rifle buffalo league. I've been shooting that for the last few years.

D.D., the .22 buffalo league; is it only period correct (cowboy-type) rifles or is there a modern class?<br />
I have a Henry Golden Boy and a Volquartsen 10/22 with a scope.

I agree, but it could be worse. How would you like it if they put your face up on the da-- thing?
