That's a wrap! Thanks for a great season. See you all next year!
We should be shooting 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday again next year.
Final schedule to be finalized in February.
<div class="IPBDescription">"Sticker Shock"</div>One of my xmas presents was a gift card from Bass Pro. Thought I might as well go over today and burn it up. Nothing that I really needed, but thought that I would pick up a thousand shotgun primers. <br />
<br />
Choke! Choke! Hack & Choke! $39.95 for a thousand primers. Told them I didn't want the solid gold ones, just the plain old shotgun primers. They told me to go look at the prices on the lead shot and powder if I thought that that was bad. <br />
<br />
I ain't gonna even go into the prices on the powder, shot and other stuff because as I sit here remembering the numbers my little brain tells me that I couldn't be remembering things correctly. The numbers are totally insane. It's like I'm remembering a bad dream. <br />
<br />
Well I thought that as long as I drove all the way over there and I needed to use up the card I'd buy the primers anyway. I got way lucky because apparently they haven't updated the computer with the price increase. The price I was charged for the primers at the front of the store was $23.99 after some kind of minor discount from $24.90 (Big sale today and the place was wall to wall with people). Must be the old regular price and I almost went back and got another brick of primers before they found their mistake. <br />
<br />
So if anybody is getting low on reloading stuff, you better get out there and get it quick at Dam Rd. Mike's or the gun shows because it has gone totally nuts.<br />
<br />
If I'm remembering correctly the lead was thirty some dollars for a bag and sixty five for a four pound keg of powder. Need I say more? They had the Winchester feather lites for 5.49 a box and at that price is ain't hardly worth reloading.
Comments
<br />
have told them that most of their componet production will be for the military for the next 18 months.
<br />
Like I said, most of this is hype and BS as to why they have to increase the numbers the way they are doing now. A sixty percent increase in a few months? By the way I do have some of the primers from fifty years ago in the little wooden trays (large rifle).<br />
<br />
As to buying mail order (internet), the Hazmat fees usually start about twenty dollars additional per order and go up from there, so that pretty much eats up any savings of going to Midway or one of the other supply houses.<br />
<br />
So it's gun shows or one of the large chain stores like Gander or Sportsman's Warehouse. That and continued whining and bit--ing by your personal malcontent, little ole me.
<br />
Moral poverty? I remember Halloween!
I found a 5lb can for $76.95 at a place just outside of Madison. Will take a trip up there as it's only an hour drive. Don't know how much they will sell in one trip. But I will ask in case anyone is interested in the future.
None hear. I will let you know when I'm making a run.
Where/Who is this place? I am in Madison everyday. It would be a short trip for me.<br />

Trail Boss is designed specifically for low velocity lead bullet loads suitable for Cowboy Action shooting. It is primarily a pistol powder, but has some application in rifle. It is based on a whole new technology which allows very high loading density, good flow through powder measures, stability in severe temperature variation and most importantly, additional safety to the handloader.
