Illinois State SASS Championship

Ugly

Well, a few of us from up north here went to the Illinois State SASS Championship and it was a well-run, fun match, and, the weather cooperated (upper 70's-lower 80's, with a gentle breeze) Some of us won prizes there as follows:<br />

Blazing Billy Jack came in 1st Men's Traditional, is Illinois State Champion and was Overall Winner of the Shoot;<br />
<br />
Walco Curly is 1st Men's Elder Statesman;<br />
<br />
Krooked River Outlaw is Men's Silver Senior Illinois State Champion;<br />
<br />
Turkey Legs is Ladies Modern Illinois State Champion;<br />
<br />
Buffalo Creek Kid came in 2nd Men's Modern;<br />
<br />
Ugly is Illinois Senior Duelist Champion;<br />
<br />
Dry Fire came in 3rd Men's Silver Senior;<br />
<br />
Legs came in 3rd Ladies 49er.<br />
<br />
<br />
Try to make next year's championship; it will be held at the same place.

Congratulations Pards. I had a great time and completed my 1st SASS tournament , CLEAN. Not without a bit of a "flub". On the next to last stage, while shooting my new 66 I had a dud round. I cocked the hammer & fired again...still a dud. I jacked it out, replaced the round and, refusing to allow the miss, got the last shot. I figured that the time it took cost me around 10 places overall. Oh well, I still finished in the middle, knowing I got em all. Most importantly, I had Fun.
