<div class="IPBDescription">My son learns what acadamia is about...</div>With both my son and daughter at Augustana this year it would seem my son has crossed a line identifying himself as an evil threat to society. This is his second year at this school and he has done well to this point. For the last year and a half he has included in his signature on e-mails a small drawing of a hand gun at the bottom of the signature. Seems after a year and a half of signing this way he finally had the wrong person see it and report him to the school authorities. Was called to the Deans office and he went right away to find that the dean was not in. He went back later and the dean was in and also had called in a psychiatrist. He then spent the next twenty five minutes being grilled and having explained to him all about the evils of guns or some such nonsense.<br />

Guess he now knows academia's take on gun ownership and this ain't over yet. (And to think that Hipshot graduated from this place.) Hopefully they won't continue to over react to this thing and it will die a natural death over the next few days. <br />

Now lets NOT all go e-mailing these people and giving him more trouble, but if you have a son or daughter away at school you might suggest to them that they don't identify in any way shape or form with guns in any way. Curious that they didn't have any problem accepting SASS's scholarship money last year.
