Disposal of Old Powder

?Anyone have any suggestions of how to dispose of old powder. It's shotgun powder from the '70's, so I very much doubt that anyone wants to use it to load shells with.

MT three pound metal coffee can, put in powder, add lit match, interesting results. (You might want to be outside when you do it.)

Actually if it was stored properly it might still be good as I have loaded forty year old powder with no ill effects. Red Dot, Unique, 700X, what?

Doc, I would also be interested in the powder. i have shot stuff older than that. you can usually tell if its any good by appearance and or smell. I'd load acouple of shells up if it passed a visual inspection and go from there. Big Grit
