Well, I've gone and done it again

SHOOTIST of the finest kind
When I came back from Idaho I had landed a position with a company in New Berlin. Well, they had their budget cut (like so many companies experience today) and I was left looking for another opportunity. I've been looking for something in the area since last fall but nothing was a decent match. Recently I found a superb fit but it is not in WI. This Friday I take to the road again and will begin a new position on Feb. 11 as Dean of Economic and Workforce Development for a college in Colorado Springs, CO. I will be living at Woodland Park which is 20 miles northwest of the Springs and up in the mountains at 8200 feet. I will be next to Pikes Peak and just drive down into the Springs M-F to perform my position duties. The rest of the time I will be wandering the Rockies. <br />

It is very tough to leave all of you again especially since this is permanent. There are 4 SASS-affiliated clubs within an hour of me so I will still have the chance to throw a lot of lead. And, I won't be that far from End of Trail. I'll post my new contact info once it is known and I am hopeful whoever gets out that way will give me a shout. The Lt. will still be at UW-Madison so I'm sure I will get back occasionally to see him. Hopefully it will be during a shoot at Dry Gulch Ranch or Beloit so I can swing by for a chat. I'll check in on the Hitching Post once in a while to see who is giving a hard time to who...<br />

I'm sure our paths will cross somewhere down the trail. I look forward to it!<br />

I will miss the threats to my person and the critque of my spelling. It has been a pleasure getting to know you. Good luck in CO. As one who has wandered from MN-WI-IL-WI-MN-and back to IL I know what you are going through. You don't lose friends when you move, you gain new ones. Come back and see the old ones you have left.<br />

Critique, not critque. Happy now? I plan on making my own luck in CO. I concur about making new friends. Never met anyone I didn't like, cept maybe JJ.... :0) And, I can still threaten you from afar. You never know when I might blast ya from a dark alley down the street from the saloon. Take care, Sham. I shall miss our light hearted posturing.

As for the need of a substitute spell-checker I'll be happy to take over. Whenever someone finds out I work for the Dept of Corrections they ask what I do and I tell them I correct people's spelling errors. I will also be happy to take over as GGP Meteorologist since I actually did that for 4 years in the USAF (I've been wrong less than you were when comparing historical records)....<br />

I have a friend that lives east of the city and we visit occasionally. I'll let you know if we are in the area, and maybe we can find a shoot to go to.<br />

I know what you mean when you are temporally out of work. My company ( which I had worked for for over 29 years ) decided to outsource our jobs in Illinois and 17 other states in Dec. and I have been hitting the streets with my resume' and filling out applications ever since. I think I'll be employed again starting next week, but my loyalty will be with me and my family, not with any new company.<br />
