Changes to the photo site

If you click on the link to the photo site you'll see some changes. What happened? Well, the folks who gave us free server space on their photo site because we were a non-profit have decided that we can no longer use password access to our photos. Instead, everyone who goes to the photo site will have to have an "invitation" from me and will have to register for an account before they can see our photos. First, this prevents anyone just dropping by from viewing our photos. Second, I personally find it repulsive to have to register an account to get access to a site for just viewing. Once they get your e-mail, expect a flood of advertisements.<br />

The changeover will happen any day now, so I've moved our photos to another server. The process is not complete yet because it essentially means starting all over again. Most of the photos are now on the new site and I have started to add the captions as they were on the old site. I hope to have the process complete in the next several weeks.<br />

I liked the old site as it would accept videos as well as photos - the new one does not - photos only. But we'll figure out something for our movies. And, of course, the old site was free. On the plus side, the new site is much easier for me to administer and update. Each site has it's good and bad features but with the changes, we have little choice.<br />

OK. I've finished moving everything to the new photo site. It took a lot longer than I had hoped but it's now done. If you see anything that looks amiss, please let me know - I was pretty tired there at the end! Comments welcome.<br />
