Just got my Chronicle and saw the pictures of merit scholarship winners Leadfoot Lizzie, Pumpkin, Potamus Kay, and Coppertop Kid. Our area was well represented. And they can shoot too!!!

    Over the last three years the twins have received $5,000.00 in scholarship monies from SASS. That's one of the reasons that I upgraded both Jamie's and my membership to "life." Maybe next March I'll do Jason's also. Just couldn't afford to do all three at once. <br />

    The SASS Scholarship Foundation has been more than generous and I hope to be able to promote a "scholarship shoot" next year at the range. <br />
    <br />
    I usually don't get the Chronicle until about the middle of the month and look forward to it.

    Being an educator I send my profound and earnest congratulations to the scholarship winners. Seeking higher education is one venue that pays off in return for hard work. Special congrats to Pumpkin and Lead Foot Lizzie. I know you'll both put the $$ to good use!!<br />

    I'm at a loss for words so i'll just say Way to go to all you young uns,make us proud now. Hey guys,you won't belive this,got my CC yesterday.Sealed in a large plastic see through envelope.I turned it over and there was a message.It read,sorry about the damage,WE REALLY CARE, United states postal service .No kidding,i opened it up,and inside ,the front page was almost torn off.It also looked like it was well read over,smudges and tears.Oh well,at least i got it.And early also.

    It isn't Harry - it's all the OTHER guys in the office reading it that tears it up. They got no respect. Harry's a good man, works hard, supports the sport, has his grandkid out to shoot, picks on JJ - don't be taking it out on Harry.

    Potamus and Coppertop both upgraded to life memberships as well--Potamus is gonna come up from school in Missouri to shoot with us in Minnesota next week and Coppertop is looking for places to shoot in Ohio where he's gone to school....<br />
    SASS has been a good part of our life and we are very appreciative of the scholarship program!

    To make a long story short keeping guns at school is not an easy thing. Both the twins are living off campus this year, but we share guns and I'm not thrilled with the possibilities of what could happen with the guns disappearing. Not the most secure house in the world and in a college town and if the word gets out that you have numerous weapons stored in your residence...<br />

    Have to see what next season brings and hopefully put the scholarship shoot together. <br />

    2nd: Thanks to everyone who wrote a letter supporting Pumpkin for her scholarship. If not for yall, I do not think she would have been as successful in her request. <br />

    3rd: Speaking of the little cuss...I mean little darling, she will be coming home to shoot with us this month. She and her mother were not to happy with me this summer. You know the last summer before college. This summer she worked for the company that I do. She worked six weeks in a row, 7 days a week averaging 62 hours a week. She did not have time to be mad at me but her mother, well that's another story. Between golf, school,American Cancer Society and babysitting for her aunt's 4 kids, Pumpkin has not had much time for anything else. She left for school on Aug.15 to start golf. I will be glad to have my shooting buddy back!<br />

    Possible that one or both of the kids will be here for our next shoot also. Remains to be seen. I'm sure that their mother will not be thrilled with them leaving early, going to our shoot and then back to school from the shoot.
