Posse Whipping Boy
<div class="IPBDescription">I'll go first...</div>Okay, Im told that occasionally Im suppose to post something here and try and sound like I know what Im talking about. The first part I can do, but the second I aint so sure of. <br />

I believe that the latest edition of the Gazette is suppose to be out by the end of the week and Stoney Mike has already stole some of my fire on something I threw in at the end of my little contribution. <br />
<br />
But on to my reason for this post. You remember a while back we were talking about naming the new prop We'll let the Rough Riders pick the top five or six names and then maybe put it to a general vote. Well in kicking this one around on the Rough Riders forum, the point was made again that Sackett was the Landlords wifes alias (Suzie Sackett). On the private forum we get to call each other names and argue about everything without the general posse finding out how we misbehave behind closed doors. Anyway, there seems to be the idea that we should just name the fort Fort Sackett and be done with it. Then theres the contingent that says, You promised them a vote. I said maybe, maybe, maybe put it to a vote. Then theres the voice who suggested a Chicago Election where the results could be determined before the vote. See what DD has to put up with from the BOD. <br />

So heres the question: Would the posse be that upset if we just went ahead and named the fort in honor of the Landlords wife? And no this isnt a poll that has pre-determined results.<br />

Name the fort without a vote:<br />

Yes, small thing that we can do to show our appreciation.<br />
<br />
No, I want to vote for a name out of those offered.<br />
<br />
Non binding referendum to get you in shape for the upcoming election. I just want to find out if there will be revolution among the masses if we went ahead and did this. <br />

So hows this for something to stir the pot with? Were having a vote about having a vote. I think about a week should give us an idea of what the posse thinks. And you only get to respond to the poll one time; this aint Chicago. <br />

I'm afraid if Pontious Pilot tried to register on the forum, I'd be inclined not to approve his registration - at least until after he'd voted properly!

That shouldn't be unless you clicked the "show results" before voting. The system is set to either allow you to vote or allow those with no interest in voting to view the results.<br />

But I think if you let us know your preference here that it can be included in the final tally.

Just got back in town from being at the kids college for the week end. Big regatta at Rock Island and the twins did well getting a couple of metals apiece. Gold and a bronze for Jamie and silver and a bronze for Jason. Keep telling them that if they take their pistols on the course the competition wouldn't stand a chance. Especially since a Kansas boat hit one of the Augustana boats that Jamie was in. No official saw it so no foul. Found it rather odd in a way that my cigars and NRA hat where not looked upon as something evil. Normally at college events you need to be a little more politically correct than I am. Not one complaint or is it that my pleasing and congenial ways tend to make everyone love me and not say anything negative to me? <br />
<br />
Anyway, in the for what it's worth category we went out for something to eat on Saturday night in Davenport, IA. Filled the car with gas. $2.64 a gallon! That's right I said $2.64. Beats IL by a long shot and even WI also. <br />
