    "Back in the day" I had to walk to school in Minnesota, it was uphill both ways, thru the snowdrifts 10 feet tall, wind chill in the minus 30 range, and with the strong possiblity of being attacked by indians. Never considered that punishment, not for the priviledge of getting a fine public education. At least that's the story I told my kids.<br />

    Same as me. But I did it barefoot and had to carry my brother and sister on my shoulders, too. The indians felt so sorry for me they wouldn't attack.
