That's a wrap! Thanks for a great season. See you all next year!
We should be shooting 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday again next year.
Final schedule to be finalized in February.
Looks like the Mods changes passed
Howdy all,
I again would like to thank the committee and all the TG's that offered input into this document.
The committee has been working on the document since the voting started, making clarifications and rewording so the document is more user friendly. We have received suggestions from the wire, e-mails, phone calls, notes on ballots, and personal conversations. Our goal is to have a perfect document we can all play by.

In the new document the committee has not made any major changes in rules. We have only clarified the rules, eliminated some contradictions and made the document easier to read. We did make a change in the leather wrap on the lever but this is more in-line with what the rule was prior to this document.

The first part of next week I will post the final document on the wire. The document will then be finalized and any changes to it after this point will be made through our normal discussions at TG Meetings and voting at the Summit.

Also, this document will become part of a completely reworked Shooter’s Handbook and the Handbook will be distributed as soon as it can be printed, mailed and placed on the web site.

Thanks to all who made this process work.

As I predicted before, SASS is now clarifying and editing the final document which will be changed somewhat from the original. Coyote alludes to several changes above.

Still don't think the wild bunch or the mods committee knew what they were even banning (doubt if many of them even saw a "Lightning Rod"); all it really did was smooth out the action of levering your rifle; didn't really seem to speed things up, but, that's what the omnipotent ones say (reference to the Wizard of Oz there sorta blowin' smoke in the wind and all) so, that's what has to be done in order to still have fun in this sport.

I just feel that A&W Smiths got a raw deal out of this and it "hacks" me off. All done. See ya all soon. <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

As far as how nit picking the local clubs will be remains to be seen. I know that most folks will do their best to comply with the new rules but there will always be a few who may have missed this whole discussion and won't realize that the rules have changed. We'll cut them some slack for a couple of matches and give them a chance to get their gear in shape.
As far as the short stroke kits go, everyone that I've seen so far have been within the parameters set by the mods group. Most, like me, have a second generation kit, very few third generation kits; the trouble came with the fourth generation kit really and they are really visible and easy to see; plus, they're having trouble using the fourth gen. kits. I guess they throw your sights off of the targets on account of having to really stroke your rifle hard in order to get the spent cases to eject properly; it was called the point of diminishing returns and I think it was reached.
Oh, well, all I know is my stuff is okay and I feel 99.9% of the folks we shoot with are already in compliance with the new rules.
