That's a wrap! Thanks for a great season. See you all next year!

We should be shooting 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday again next year.

Final schedule to be finalized in February.

Winter wasn't kind - we need some help!

dddd Gnome, gnome on the range!
Remember that deep snow pack we had that was followed by several days of steady, warm rain a couple of months ago? Well, most of the fields around the range drain into the range area and this year there was considerable damage done by the raging runoff.

We've been out there with Coot's loader and repaired much of the worst damage but there are still areas that will need to be fixed before our first match on April 26th.

We are having a work party this coming Wednesday, April 15th, as the weather forecast is good. We will be starting at 9 AM and would welcome anyone who can come out and give us a hand. Extra rakes and shovels will be welcome too.

As I said, the worst areas you see below, especially around stages 1 & 2, have been repaired. Next, we need some "cowboy power" to finish the cleanup of debris and repair the road area where we move the gun carts.

Please come out a lend a hand if you can!
We will be working towards making the path or roadway behind the stages as smooth as possible before the first shoot and have already addressed anything in front of the firing line. Even planted grass seed to help hold the fill that we put out in front of the firing line. Hoping it will start to come up before the first shoot.

We might not be able to have everything groomed to the point of a billiard table level and smooth, but Dry Gulch Ranch was not very "dry" this spring. I've never seen that kind of water damage before and I've lived on the beautiful Fox River for over fifty years.

Next fall will find a few dams in strategic places to prevent a reoccurrence of this.

Will probably be trying for the following Wednesday also if the weather is again good enough to work out there.

If there are any other work parties before the first shoot we will post it here. Check in from time to time.

I get off work at 3:30 and could be there by 4:30 if you think there will still be a work party engaged. I also have plenty of the garden variety tools so, if I can be of service, let me know if you'll still be around in the afternoon.
By that time I suspect we will be out of there. Starting at 9AM means that us old farts will be spent by three.

Or sooner! I usually crash long before three.

But thanks for the offer, Rich. Thanks also to IM Portly, we'll see ya out there!

I believe that we have at least three or four rakes and shovels out there so the bodies is what we really need.
Grit, Dice and Asleep leave early tommorow for the Mississippi State Championship so their presence will be missed.
