That's a wrap! Thanks for a great season. See you all next year!

We should be shooting 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday again next year.

Well, it definately "pre-ban" because of the number of rounds in the magazine. And that top grip looks like it came from Eagle Grips. If I owned one I wouldn't need four pistols, just use this one.
Bingo! That's twice, I believe, that Stoney Mike has won the challenge. Tomorrow I'll ship him his prize of a case of once-fired primers.

These are called "coil guns" and are basically the same as "rail guns." Big ones are called rail guns and smaller ones are called coil guns but I've seen it reversed also.

In the first photo we see a do-it-yourself coil gun. The three dark beer-can sized units on top and the one underneath are capacitors that are charged, and when the tripper is pulled, they discharge through an electromagnet surrounding the barrel which propels the iron slug out the barrel. No primers, no powder, no government restrictions - yet. Depending on power source, it can take anywhere from several seconds to a few minutes to charge the capacitors to fire the next round. I have no clue what the light bulb in front is for.
Lots of them here.
