Grand Army of the Frontier
If I understand it right (and I probably don't), it is a combination of the shooting and stages slanted towards the senarios that might be encountered by the armies from the Civil War to the Spanish American War. Shamrock has some sort of higher rant in the IL group and is putting on the shoot this next Saturday. For the cowboys I believe you could shoot in the "Scout" category. Shamrock explained it all at the briefing Sunday, but being brain dead I don't remember all the details other than I plan to come out and give it a whirl (one pistol, rifle and shotgun). He is also planning a wild bunch stage I believe after the shoot, so bring out your 1911's.

ALL BULLETS MUST BE LEAD. No jacketed stuff.

Jim,
Could you give us just a little more info - wasn't there Sunday so I didn't get all the particulars - like:
1. Start time
2. Attire
3. Will there be six stages
4. Ammo

Inquiring minds need to know - we plan on coming <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
I will get more details posted as soon as I talk to Shamrock or will make sure we post more details soon.

Start time will probably be 9AM like our regular shoots.

Attire would be the same as the cowboy unless you have the necessary military garb. Most cowboy shooters will be shooting "Scout" category which is like cowboy but only one pistol, rifle and shotgun.

Five stages (not shooting the shotgun stage at the bank). Believe there will be a quick reset of stage five for a wild bunch stage after the match also.

Ammo is the same as the cowboy shoot as everything has to be lead and no jacketed rounds.

My excuse is that this is Shamrock's show so I haven't gotten heavily involved. He is up in MN. for a funeral. I should have gotten more info and I apologize for not being better informed. Thinking that the IL state shoot is this next week end we were also thinking that most of the cowboy shooters might be down there for that.

Again, we'll get more details posted here and probably send out an e-mail to our mailing list like we do for the regular shoots.
Since Shamrock got copies of our stages from me, I would guess he plans on using the targets we set up for yesterday's match but altered to suit their military scenarios. Beyond that, he said he'll be posting details this week.

How's the shoulder TL?
Thanks Jim for the info

DD - shoulder is doing fine - only a few twinges now and then - shot the rifle and pistol at the Charity Shoot - Badger Bob did the honors of shooting the shotgun for me - I hope to give it a try this weekend.
