That's a wrap! Thanks for a great season. See you all next year!

We should be shooting 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday again next year.

Final schedule to be finalized in February.

We know what this is........

dddd Gnome, gnome on the range!
It's an original 1873. Below are many pics of it. The question is, what caliber is it and how do you know? On some, the caliber is on the bottom of the elevator, but not here. There are other ways to tell.
A very good WAG. I think the clue is the shot of the muzzle - definitely a big bore. I believe they were chambered in 44-40, 38-40, 32-20 & 22 in those days. So likely a 44-40.

The listing says:

Winchester Model 1873 (Second Model) carbine .44 WCF (.44-40) made in 1881 - Serial number 68650 with standard 20 inch round barrel, and complete with original cleaning rod still in the butt trap.

And they want too much for it.

It sure is in great shape. Wonder how the bore looks? Anyway, my guess is that they want, what, $3500?

Didn't see a price but that sounds in the ballpark.
