Virgil Sparks

dddd Gnome, gnome on the range!
Virgil Sparks passed on to the Great Roundup today. He was one fine cowboy and we all will miss him. They would like to have a 21-gun cowboy salute for him using blanks. If anyone can help out here with blanks, etc. Please let me know and I'll pass it along to ladybug. I received this from her today-
I am so VERY sad to hear of the passing of our good cowboy friend, Virgil Sparks. Always enjoyed chatting with him at the shoots as well as at the gunshows attended by Lady Bug and he. Never knew a time when he wasn't positive and had a big smile on his face. He will be dearly missed. Both the Lt. and I will have him in our thoughts and prayers.
 • Well we laid brother Virg. to rest yesterday. He was laid out in his best duds, in the type of box in wanted,a nice wood pine casket.Had a chance to meet his sons & daughter and to chat with his wonderfull wife Joyce.Lady Bug worked hard geting things ready for this day bringing things together. After the service a special meal was served for all,and Border Vigilante, myself, had a nice visit with other cowboys and gals at our table. To name a few they included Ambush, Bulldog James,Johnny Ron Quillow ( hope i spelled that right)Cottonwood Kate, Lady Bug. May you rest in peace "Virgil Sparks", you will be missed by all.
 • I would like to mention here that we did see other cowboys the day before at the funeral home in Ocono, Dog eared Dan, Rusty Ruger, Rosey Ruger, to name a few.On the humerous side, when Border Vigilante(Bat) and myself stoped for breakfast, the resturant folks thought we were part of a singing group, both of us in our black and white duds. Then 1/2 wat there Bat needed a coffee stop, so we stoped at a Burger King. Well it so happened one of the gal clerks , it was her 19 th birthday, and she thought we were sent in to sing her "Happy Birthday" needless to say, we did wish her a happy birthday, But we didn't sing it.
 • Words do not come easy at this time. A feeling of void, the passing of a frind. Not that I knew Virgil well, we did not go to dinner, we did not attend parties, nor did we exchange cards at holidays, and birthdays. Yet the time spent with him was that of quality, allowing me to look into his eyes and see a man, a man who was gental and warm, honest and forward.I shall miss him and I will pray for him. I regret not haveing been able to spend more time with him. God Bless Virgil rest in peace.
