That's a wrap! Thanks for a great season. See you all next year!

We should be shooting 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday again next year.

Final schedule to be finalized in February.

Help wanted! Ideas

We have been blessed with some marvelous lunches at last years matches and it has become my duty to try to come up with some ideas for lunches for the coming season. I need ideas for great lunches that keep preparation problems low and cowboys and cowgirls happy and full. If you have a good idea for a lunch or something you have enjoyed somewhere else, I would like to hear about it. I will pay attention to your posts!! <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':w00t:' />

    Does this mean that Big Shooter Mike and wife won't be doing our lunches this year?

    Unfortunately, they plan on going to Europe this summer and won't be able to do the lunches. They sure did a great job feeding us last year!<br />
    <br />
    Dan will be overseeing the operation this year and he'll be looking for help if anyone is interested in lending a hand.

    Yes, they did! <br />
    <br />
    What about making it a potluck affair with first letter of last name indicating what to bring each time (A-F = salad/chips, G-K = main course, L-R = drinks, S-Z = desserts) and then swith it around for each shoot? Of course, there would have to be some indication who was coming ahead of time so we could make sure all courses were covered and in an adequate amount....... Just a thought.
  • What about repeating what we had last year.<br />
    <br />
    Some hotdogs with trimmings; Push the button Wyatt said he can make some chili; chips and DO NOT FORGET THE HOT PEPPER for Longtooth.<br />
    Beans, BQ beef/pork.<br />
    <br />
    Maybe next year we'll get back on the saddle and do some on the spot cooking. Just an idea. Have to talk with the boss about that.<br />
    We have lots of recipes but is a lot of work to cook for so many and most of it (read all) are European recipes - which I don't know how well will be received by the pardners.<br />
    <br />
    Like Denny said will be out of country for a spell; we'll be first time grandparents, and who knows what else will it happen.<br />
    <br />
    Thanks to all for the good words.<br />
    <br />

  • I'm mostly looking for ideas for the kinds of food you all would like to eat at the matches. We know most people come to a match to shoot and don't want to burden them with chips or deserts. <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rolleyes:' />

    I for one, sure did like the meatball sandwiches that BSM fixed. It was a nice change from the ordinary fare. Hot dogs can be good if accompanied by chili, beans, etc., if not done too often. Bratwurst and Italian sausage cooked in onions and/or beer are good, as are sloppy joes and BBQ beef. We might want to even try a cold, deli type sandwich or Italian beef. Potato or macaroni salad is always a good side dish, but beans can get old if served too often. Also, chips (a variety of types) and a dessert are a must.<br />
    <br />
    Shoots that serve the same old thing (grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, etc.), shoot after shoot, seem to get the most complaints that I have heard.<br />
    <br />
    That's just my 2 worth. Other folks probably have much different tastes than mine. Let's hear from a few of you on what you might wish to have!<br />

    Your kidding!!!! Right!!!! It's a good thing that I wear boots. The muck is awful deep. You only wish and me too that Pancho's would deliver. I can smell it now. Burritos,tamales,quesdillas or how ever you spell it and last but not least stuffed peppers with lots of hot sauce. <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':crazy:' /> <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':crazy:' />

    I concur. Still think we should consider a potluck on occasion or at least some folks bringing a dessert for all to share.
  • Or ya could always ask Tex what worked so well for the three year prior to last year! <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/devil.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':devil:' />
