That's a wrap! Thanks for a great season. See you all next year!

We should be shooting 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday again next year.

Final schedule to be finalized in February.

Winnequah Gun Club - Lodi

Cowboy shoots
Rumor has it that some extensive remodeling, digging and earth moving has recently occurred at WGC for the specific purpose of putting in 4 new ranges on which will be held 1) IPSC matches and 2) Cowboy shoots. Would any of you 'Yahoos' be interested in traveling this far to attend these matches?

Actually, its not much of a rumor because I will be running the matches if we have them. Let me know if you want further details or more info.

We are primarily a long-range rifle club (with marked firing points out to 1200 yards) so the number of possible matches is probably around 3-4 a year but, we also have a 300 yard Buffalo shoot area for .22 rifles - imagine the side shoots we can have.
Even without knowing how long of a drive it might be I hope you post the info here and also under the topic heading of "Other Cowboy Clubs."

Believe that Grit has attended a number of long range matches up there and think that perhaps a few others have also. Give us the dates and other info please.
  • dddd Gnome, gnome on the range!
I've shot the spring and fall long-range black powder matches there numerous times - nice range. But I'd have to get up at zero dark thirty to make it. Perhaps I can make it up there on occasion though I doubt very often.

In any event, EZ, you are most welcome to post here your schedule and scores if you like.
  • OK, all you Horn-Swaggled, Rootin-Tootin, Rip-Roarin Cowboys and Cowgirls (is that PC?), Winnequah Gun Club has come through as promised. We will be having 2 Cowboy matches this year (gotta start out kinda slow and easy because they ain't never had one at WGC before), the 1st one will be on July 30 (which also happens to be my 71st birthday) and the 2nd will be on Oct 1st..

No cut and dried scenarios yet but I can promise you one heck of a lot of shootin'... We inherited all of the Wisconsin Practical Pistol League's steel targets so we have more targets than you can shake a stick at. We also have a great dining room at our new indoor range or we may utilize our outdoor picnic shelter.. Whatever happens my lovely wife (the Amazing Tammy Whynot) has promised to have a bunch of GOOD FOOD available and she is very very good at this!!!!!!!!

So,there you go - consider this a personal invitation from me to come on up and show these Cheeseheads how REAL COWBOYS shoot and have a good time doing it.

More details will follow.
  • Ain't that far if you move up here and take advantage of the Concealed Carry we're going to get soon. We'll throw in a bumper sticker for the team that beat the Bears. Also, our taxes didn't go up 60+ per cent.

As we have the SASS Scholarship Shoot the day after I doubt I and a few of those helping with that shoot will be able to attend the first one.

Maybe the second shoot.
