[font="Times New Roman"]Winter Range is rapidly approaching and the Rough Riders are hard at work preparing for our 20^th Anniversary Match. We think you will enjoy what we have in store for you.[/font]<br />

[font="Times New Roman"]Thanks to your participation and support, this year will mark another record attendance for Winter Range. We have already exceeded last years record and will likelysell out in the next couple of weeks. We have already sold out the Wild Bunch National Championship and all the Warm-up matches.[/font]<br />

[font="Times New Roman"]For those who have not already signed up, we will be taking names for a waiting list. However, be forewarned the no-show rate is quite low.[/font]<br />

[font="Times New Roman"]Winter Range is a Shooters Match and the Rough Riders feel a quality shooter experience is paramount. We take great pride in running a match that consistently runs smoothly and on time. In order to offer a quality experience for the shooters it is necessary to limit the number of shooters and posse sizes in the various events we offer (including the main action match). Ultimately the parameters that define these limits are quite simple: Range Time, Space, and Manpower. [/font]<br />

<br />
[font="Times New Roman"]Range Time: The Ben Avery Shooting Facility is a public range run by Arizona Game and Fish. Winter Range, as any other shooting club, is required to schedule range time on an annual basis. This includes the time required for setup and tear down. As it is we are already asking Game and Fish to tie up the ranges we use for two weeks which prevents several other shooting disciplines from shooting in those bays. And since it is scheduled on an annual basis, it is too late to add time this year. Obviously we will press Game and Fish for more time next year (if that is possible).[/font]<br />

[font="Times New Roman"][/font] <br />
<br />
[font="Times New Roman"]Space: Every bay allotted to Winter Range will be in use or being prepared throughout the six days of shooting. Some have suggested adding more stages to accommodate more shooters.There is simply no place to put them.[/font]<br />

[font="Times New Roman"][/font] <br />
<br />
[font="Times New Roman"]Manpower: As you may already know, Winter Range relies on an all-volunteer work force. As it is the Rough Riders and Rangers sacrifice vacations and time off work without pay to do what is now almost two weeks of continuous work in February. Except for our three permanent props, all of Winter Range has to be set up from bare ground. That includes; props, steel, tents, toilets, booths, signage, roping, etc, etc. It is a Herculean task and we are always amazed by the enthusiasm, hard work, and resolve of our Rangers and volunteers. As we add more events and days, is it fair to ask even more time and work of these valiant volunteers?there-in lies the rub.[/font]<br />

[font="Times New Roman"]This year we will again observe [color="#ff0000"]Red Shirt Friday. [/color]If you would like to wear an item of red clothing on Friday to show support for our troops we encourage you to do so.[/font]<br />
