That's a wrap! Thanks for a great season. See you all next year!
We should be shooting 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday again next year.
Final schedule to be finalized in February.
2011 GGP Class Championship Program - Update
Class Championship 2011 Update

With three matches already shot and two more to go some Class Champion classes are wide open, some are closely contested, some have new names in towards the top, and some need people to show up for the October 8th and 23rd matches to be in contention.

49er has two new names at the top: Snidely Whiplash and Ninety Seven. However there are two others who have only shot one match who could be spoilers.

B-Western has the two usual suspects Arizona Slick and Filthy Harry slugging it out for number one, with Scoutmaster Mike bringing up the third spot.

Cowboy has Kid Mike ahead by a considerable margin over Tall Guy.

Classic Cowboy perennial winner Marshall Magoo is not showing any willingness to give up his trophy this year. COS is running second.

Dualist is the closest contest to date with less than 2 seconds separating Pair-A-Dice and Cornbread Lawman.

Elder Statesman Dangerous Denny is still leading the class but has competition this year from Tony Bee. Stay tuned for further developments in the We might be geezers but still can pull the triggers faster than some of you young punks category.

Junior Boys is clearly in the hands of Zip Zander. Of note here is that in the May match he beat his dad by 17 seconds. Way to go!!

Ladies has Clamiti Judy firmly in charge.

Senior is another hotly contested class with IM Portly and Johnny Popper only separated by about 10 seconds a match. A slip by either could change the picture. There is also a shooter with only one match in that could throw a wrench into the contest.

Senior Dualist has become Saguaro Kids claim for the past two years and it looks like 2011 will be no different.

Wrangler has Don Eared Dan written all over it.

There are a whole posse of people who have only shot one match. Come to the next two matches and get in the running.

Regards,

I didn't look at the other classes, but it doesn't look good for me in the 49er class.

If Ninety Seven shoots the October Match, he'll be the only 49er who shot all 5 matches. He should get a commendation for that.

Adjusting the minimum number of matches to 3, Ninety Seven's best 3 of 4 averaged scores beats my 3 of 3 averaged scores by 12 seconds.

Just between the two of us, if he shoots and I don't, he wins. If I shoot and he doesn't, I have to score under 314 seconds if best 3 of 4 matches are used (26 seconds better than my average so far this year). If we both shoot, and his worst score is discarded, I need to beat him by 35 seconds.

There are 3 shooters who have shot 2 matches in the 49er class this year:

Big Grit, with a 170 average.
Border Vigilante, with a 171 average.
Twitch Tumbleweed, with a 282 average.

If just one of those three shoot in the October match, they would have to do very poorly not to win.

If I didn't mess up on the score sheet reading or math, this means that statistically, within the next two weeks, I need to find someone who can shoot better than myself disguised as myself, and arrange for 4 Sunday IRS audits on October 23rd. <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
