"PART I – THE SCHEDULE
SECTION C – DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/STATEMENT OF WORK
C-2
3.0 REQUIREMENTS AND TESTING STANDARDS
3.1 General. DHS and its components have a requirement for a 5.56x45mm NATO, select-fire firearm suitable for personal defense use in close quarters and/or when maximum concealment is required."

"3.21 Magazine.
3.21.2 The magazine shall have a capacity to hold thirty (30) 5.56x45mm NATO rounds."

NATO weapons to Homeland Security Departments? Fully automatic assault rifles with 30 round magazines? Do airport cops really need this much firepower? Couldn't they man airport scanners with 10 round magazines just as well? And why "maximum concealment"? Are Homeland Security cops going to carry these rifles under trenchcoats?
