WHO ARE THE GUN CONTROLLERS - PART 3 <br />

In the third and final installment in this series, we will take a brief look at the last major category of gun controllers - the Political Hacks. Whereas the Low Information Types and the True Believers make up the foot soldiers of the gun control movement, the Political Hacks are the ones that keep the campaign to take your guns into motion. <br />
<br />
A wide range of individuals fall into the Political Hack category. Such includes everything from elected officials to political appointees to low-level civil servants. The one thing that binds them together is that they've latched on to the gun control issue to advance their own political careers or agendas. Political Hacks may or may not believe that gun control is a solution to crime and violence, but they certainly believe that gun control is a vehicle of self-promotion. <br />
<br />
As might be expected, Illinois government is just loaded with hacks that see gun control as a springboard to political success. This is evidenced by the number of single issue gun control candidates that come out of the woodwork every election cycle. Despite the fact that the state's economy is in a shambles, the Political Hacks run on a one-plank platform - the destruction of your right to keep and bear arms. <br />
<br />
Many of the Political Hacks are smart enough to know that gun control offers a solution to nothing. Yet, they also know that there are a lot of True Believers and Low Information Types out there who will be sensitive to the message of gun control. So, the hacks take a calculated risk, roll the dice, and paint themselves as the "gun safety candidate." Likewise with political appointees and civil servants who curry favor with their bosses by assuming a rabidly extreme position on private firearm ownership. <br />
<br />
The biggest problem posed by Political Hacks is that they won't think twice about spouting lies against guns and gun owners. Politics being what it is, each round of anti-gun lies has to be more outrageous than the round before. If these lies are repeated enough, they become "fact" in the minds of many - especially the Low Information Types. <br />
<br />
It's really a waste of time trying to debate gun control with a Political Hack because the issue really isn't gun control - it's about how much political mileage the hack will get out of the issue. In fact, many of these Political Hacks probably have no issue with guns and may even be "pro-gun." However, they know that appearing anti-gun gets them votes or provides them with power. Thus, the most effective way to counter Political Hacks is with brute political force. The most unsettling thing you can say to a Political Hack is that you will make their defeat your number one goal in life. <br />
<br />
When it comes to neutralizing Political Hacks, there truly is strength in numbers. That is why pro-gun groups put so much time and effort into political organizing. When a Political Hack sees a sea of gold shirts or camo at an event, they're quick to go hide under a rock - and that's just where Political Hacks belong. <br />
<br />
We hope that this 3-part series has helped you understand who the gun controllers are and how to deal with them. We also hope that you now understand that it is essentially pointless to engage in debates with most anti-gunners. It's more important that gun owners spend their time encouraging other gun owners to get more politically active. It's more important that gun owners work to elect and re-elect political candidates who are unwavering in their support for the right to keep and bear arms. Gun control truly is a disease with the educated, politically aware gun owner being the most effective cure. <br />
