Another mass shooting at a site teeming with U.S. military personnel, disarmed by policy. Would it be too much to ask that we allow active duty military personnel who have volunteered to serve our country and have trained with weapons to be able to wear sidearms at work? I'm not suggesting they will ever allow civilians with concealed carry permits who have passed the background checks for both their permits and their jobs at those installations be allowed to carry guns. The bureaucrats will never become that sensible. But can those people who step up to defend our country, who wear the uniforms (which function as targets, like police uniforms do, to terrorists and the mentally ill alike), and whom we are paying to defend our country, at least be allowed to defend themselves at the military sites they serve in?<br />
