EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE <br />

[font=Arial, sans-serif]I am at the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT SHOW) looking at all of the new products that are or will be available soon. I will report on some of those items in upcoming Thursday Bulletins.[/font] <br />
<br />
[font=Arial, sans-serif]Governor Rauner has made several appointments to administrative positions. One of those is the new Director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). Governor Rauner selected State Representative Wayne Rosenthal for the Director position. Wayne Rosenthal is an outstanding selection for this position. Aside from being a State Representative, Director Rosenthal is a retired F-16 pilot and retired Brigadier General from the Illinois Air National Guard. He is an avid outdoorsman and a proud Second Amendment supporter.[/font] <br />
<br />
[font=Arial, sans-serif]Director Rosenthal will have his work cut out for him. The IDNR was once in the top five such organizations in the country. The problem is that for the last 14 years the IDNR has been gutted both in the personnel department and financially. It will take time and money to rebuild the IDNR. Let's make sure Director Rosenthal gets all the support he needs.[/font] <br />

[font=Arial, sans-serif]The recent spectacle of Secretary of State John Kerry and James Taylor crooning "You've Got a Friend" to French people has led me to the conclusion that the U.S. State Department must be the largest single employer of village idiots anywhere.[/font] <br />

[font=Arial, sans-serif]We are working on plans for Illinois Gun Owner Lobby Day (IGOLD) to be held on March 18, 2015. Many of you have been asking for details. It will take a few weeks to finalize the plans. I hope to have these plans ready in the very near future. Please make every effort to attend IGOLD this year. igold.isra.org [/font] <br />
