Preparing for spring

What are all you shooters out there doing to prepare for the first match of spring?<br />

Myself, I picked up some new New Vagueros in stainless/.357 so I won't have to use my 44-40 Colts all the time. Spent the last few days getting them slicked up with lighter springs, half cock hammers and free-spin pawls. In the next week or so, I'll get some elk grips fitted (I'd like stag but that would cost more than the gun!), then it's off to the range to see how they shoot. Outside of that I'm ready to go - after I get last season's dirt cleaned out of everything!<br />

to use in the new catigory I think is now gonna be ah modtrabanger er something so I'm thinkin this will fit right in If I can figure where I put it and figure what it was I think I got or did I get it dang ya can't see the thing when ya put it down er did I even get it yet might help if I knew what it was again. Well Im just gettin ready if I only knew what class I am shootin in ifn they get tramod figured out or not. Oh I'll just go back to Duelist I guess.

Onto the question, I would like to get a mec grabber in 16ga and load some 7/8oz loads for my 16 `97. also need Tooth to make a 16ga gammer slide. I already reload my 12ga with 7/8oz shot but just want to try something different to see what I think of it.
Then there was the one friend who asked me where I got all the "Clear Christmas Lights?" Explained that after many years of listening the the complaints from the wife about getting them up I solved the problem completely. I left them up all year long and after some years of constantly being up all the paint chipped off all the bulbs. <br />

Denny, you can tell Millie that the ones you put up are your tribute to Christmas around the world and the round ball represents a copy of the globe. I think I can see a number of the continents in the display, but then I haven't see it when it's lit up.

Will also be working up new loads as I bought an eight pound keg of Clay Dot to use for all my loads this season. So first I have to figure out what the he!! the loads are going to be. As there are no loads for the powder other than shot gun I'll have to play a little with it to come up with what will work. <br />

Haven't purchased any grips for a while, but have now eaten at three different restaurants in the area of his shop. The trip, the B.S., going out for lunch with Raj, it's all good. Prefer the Indian or Mexican restaurants. <br />

Kid Mike is very active in school with band, swim team, and water polo. He wants to go to End of Trail this year so if any one would like to team up with us we could use the help. He also would like to shoot as much as he can this year as well as me. My other "Spring thing" is a new hat. I was nosing around on fleabay a couple of months ago and ran across a Rand Custom Hatters hat. I ended up getting it for $40 and subsequent checking with the company showed it sold for over $700 when it was made for a Montana cowboy in 1987 and who apparently never wore it. Why so expensive? Well, it is a Rand and --- it is made from mink and beaver! Really cool, and, after I used my wife's clothing steamer on it and put a decent crush on it, has become my favorite cowboy hat. Maybe I'll get to wear it to a match or 2 this year.
